Portland International Airport (PDX) handles over 14 million passengers per year and manages flights to destinations throughout the United States as well as several international cities in Canada, Mexico, Germany and Japan. Portland International Airport is a single-terminal facility that is very well laid out and comes with comprehensive passenger facilities.

Most of the airport's facilities are located on the upper level of the terminal in the main Departures atrium and throughout the five concourses. Facilities include ATMs, postal services, a children's playroom, many shops and restaurants, and designated smoking areas.

Shops, Duty-Free and Retail Outlets


Portland International Airport (PDX) excels in the shopping department, with many popular high street stores represented in the main Departures Concourse on the upper level as well as duty-free outlets for those traveling overseas. Popular stores include Brookstone, Creative Kidstuff, Hudson News, Nike Store, the Oregon Pendleton Shop and Your Northwest Travel.

Bars, Cafés and Restaurants


Portland International Airport (PDX) has a good complement of eateries, which are concentrated at the Oregon Market in the Departures atrium. Choices include cafés, restaurants, snack bars and microbrews. Outlets include Caper's Café, Columbia Grill, Gustav's Pub and Grill, Panda Express, Pizza Schmizza, Portland Brewing Co., Pizza Pub, Rose City Café and Starbucks Coffee.

Currency Exchange, Communications and Banking Facilities


A currency exchange booth can be found in the Ticketing area on the upper floor, while cash machines are located in Arrivals and Departures, with the majority situated in the latter. There are also postal vending machines, drop boxes and telephones throughout the terminal building.

Business and Conference Facilities


Portland International Airport's business and conference options are excellent, with the PDX Conference Center located between concourses C and D on the upper floor. Telephones, fax machines, a photocopier and data ports are available here as well as secretarial services. There are also conference services on concourses C and D, and wireless Internet access throughout the terminal.

Disabled Facilities


Facilities for disabled passengers at Portland International Airport (PDX) are commendable and include specially adapted toilets and telephones, wide aisles, ramps and elevators throughout as well as a guide dog relief area, wheelchairs and special assistance available on request.

Other Facilities


Other facilities at the airport include a children's play area, barber shop, seated massage and a shoeshine service, which may help to pass the time for those with long delays and restless children; the majority of these facilities are located on the upper floor.
