Located to the northeast of downtown, Portland International Airport (PDX) is near to some major interstate highways, including the main north to south I-5 interstate and the Salt Lake City to Portland I-84 interstate.

Standing alongside the southern banks of the Columbia River, Portland Airport is bordered to the north by the NE Marine Driver and access can be gained along the NE Airport Way, which runs past the Portland International Center and into the complex, passing the Air Cargo Road.

Others points of reference close to the airport include the Portland Air National Guard Base and the Colwood National Golf Course, both of which lie directly south, off the NE Columbia Boulevard. Also useful points of reference and within the river, Lemon Island, Sand Island and Government Island are all extremely close.

Directions to Portland International Airport (PDX) from the north:

Take the I-5 interstate south and exit onto the I-205 south
Continue along the I-205 interstate and take Exit 24 onto Northeast Airport Way

Directions to Portland International Airport (PDX) from the south:

Take I-5 north through Portland to the I-84 interstate Exit 300
Head east on the I-84 interstate to the I-205 north
Continue north along the I-205 interstate and take Exit 24B for the airport

Directions to Portland International Airport (PDX) from the east:

Take the I-84 interstate west and exit onto the I-205 north at Exit 10
Exit the I-205 interstate at Exit 24B onto Northeast Airport Way

Directions to Portland International Airport (PDX) from the west:

The US-26 highway comes into Portland from the west
Exit onto the I-405 interstate south and then the I-5 north
Exit I-5 onto the I-84 east
Exit onto the I-205 north and continue until you reach Exit 24B for Portland Airport

Interstates I-5 and I-84 can become fairly congested around Portland during busy commuter hours, so be sure to bear this in mind when traveling along these routes.
